GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Technical Assistant sought by this global ship owner/operator! Based from the Singapore office and reporting to the Vessel Manager, this role will provide overall support to the technical department as well as work with local and regional management teams as required. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Ideally, the successful applicant would have had a minimum of 3 years exposure to the maritime industry. Our client will consider an individual who has worked in marine, shipping, purchasing or any technical support function. Sea-going experience is not required however this would be an advantage. Excellent communication skills, a willingness to assist in numerous activities simultaneously and multi-tasking ability is required. Effective at problem-solving with a bit of exposure to naval architecture and or marine engineering would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have initiative and show a positive attitude toward assisting the vessel manager. A working knowledge of ShipNet would be a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Assist the Vessel Manager in the management of vessels, helping with budgets and cost efficiencies.
- Assist in ensuring security, safety awareness and the training of seafarers.
- Assist in any relevant incident reporting, analysis of incidents and assist in ensuring corrective and preventive action
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations
